In 2016, Avelino proved that he’s a lyricist from the UK that more people need to start paying attention to. If  last year was Avelino’s introductory year, then 2017 is setting up to be his breakout year. Within just the first month of the year, Avelino has been sharing singles back to back—“Long Time Coming,” “Know My Name,” and “Welcome to the New Gen” with Bonkaz

This week Avelino returns with yet another new single titled “Energy.” This time he recruits two of grime’s biggest names right now, Stormzy and Skepta, to join him. The three lyricists each take their turns bringing their own energy to the track. The production slowly builds up until it peaks towards the chorus. To match the pace of the rhythm, Avelino, Stormzy and Skepta each deliver verses that begin on the calmer side before ultimately increasing the tempo towards the ending.
